Richard received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Michigan College of Architecture and Urban Planning. After U of M, Richard achieved a a Master of Architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University with a focus/concentration centered on Architectural Design and Practice.  

While still at Lawrence Technological University Richard added “published author” to his list of accomplishments. His dissertation became a published work entitled A Vision for American Community. The book provides a practical manual for using architecture as a tool to enhance daily life. In it, Richard explains how architecture must combine current technology with the time-tested, best practices of design. In short, sustainable architecture solutions must be found through considering modern society in an environmentally respectful manner.
